This is a bittersweet moment for the team & me.

Over the last few years we gave it our all to build 'web3 gaming' and dabble on some ideas on what it could really be.

Countless nights, weekends, ideas, conceptualization, hiring, collaboration and planning to execute our vision. A small team of builders & gamers getting together trying to crack the code.

We wanted to create a real game where skill mattered. A playable avatar that doubled as your NFT and identity. A world where ownership meant something, where onchain avatars can connect & game.

We knew we had no chance in competing against web2 giants so focused on a genre (speedrun) that was already popular & familiar to web2 audience. It's fun to watch, hard to master, and we truly believe what we built was a strong take on what Web3 gaming could look like.

In the end? We couldn't break through the noise. We lost the attention game, and couldn't secure investor support without compromising through extreme token deals. It started to feel impossible to create freely and that hindered our development.

Every part of @FoxariaHQ and Foxaria Games was built with love & passion. Every moment shared with teams, partners, @base is something I will cherish forever.

It's hard to put into words how much Foxaria mean't to us, not just as a game, but as an idea, a vision, a collaboration. A belief in the idea that playing games could mean more.

Major props to every creator building in web3 gaming. It's not easy. Things break. Execution is hard. Stress level is always off the charts🤣, but ultimately we created something we were really proud of.

Foxaria will remain online, but we won’t be investing in further development beyond what's already built. We’ll still planning to run event games, and we’re open to discussions with anyone interested in continuing the journey we started.
