Birdman is a bleak comedy, a backstage drama, a family portrait and an assault on comic book movies. Acting and music is great. 4paws.

Hiroki thought the Equalizer was equal parts ridiculous and badass. Denzel and a great bad guy - Russians. 3 paws.

Chef is simply brilliant. A throwback to movies of Hiroki's youth - great acting, cooking and father/son stuff. 4paws.

Hiroki loved Lucy. Mr. Besson back to his bad ass, visually audacious and super fun self. All wrapped in an action movie wrapper. 4paws.

Hiroki thought 22Jumpstreet was just ok. Little too meta and self-referential. Few hilarious moments, overall serviceable. 3paws.

Hiroki could be Godzilla's dog. Godzilla is a solid citizen in the new film. Decent story, strong effects and a few perfect moments. 3.5paws

Hiroki loved Mistaken for Strangers, a documentary about the band the National and a little brother. Music, brothers and making art. 4paws.

Hiroki was so disappointed with Anchorman 2 (theatrical version). Barely 1 paw, that is all on this subject.

Hiroki loved the Grand Budapest Hotel. Everything that goes into an Anderson world taken farther than in any of his other films. 4paws.
