@studiosupesart @U4snT30O7VlqWYw @mrjeffu Right, that's basically what I'm describing as a fundamentally "human" problem. He's superman so ideally he could just do "Might Makes Right" for his will, but instead he struggles with mediation and negotiation -- things only humans need worry about.

@U4snT30O7VlqWYw @mrjeffu Not quite. The US favors stories about the underdog due to it's history and dogma. Superman is popular because his struggles are human, rather than supernatural, and he is the underdog in trying to be "human".

Most people also enjoy stories where characters gain competence.
