@Mysticular @houstonisdwatch @HISDSupe I missed this part. No vetting is even worse. Why to increase leadership salaries and create the Mike Mouse new positions? Cutting the human capital and the salaries of the few folks left, yet expecting them to work harder and blaming them for the horrible organization? Wow.
@Mysticular @houstonisdwatch @HISDSupe Exactly! They set the expectation (no real expectation), then they blame and fire a pregnant overworked employee. Again, who vetted that assignment and why there’s no action against them?
⚠️ The curriculum writer in charge of this assignment has been fired by @HISDSupe, but no one else has been held accountable for this mistake even though the Curriculum leadership is responsible for vetting this work. Where’s the accountability for ALL that Mike Miles proclaims?
@thepoetmendez@AkilaWash@MrsEppsMath @houstonisdwatch Bingo. OLD writers were required to have curriculum experience. Since some officer got in charge of that department, excellence and experience are not requisites anymore. Now a warm body is enough, then they blame that warm body for not knowing how to write curriculum.
@thepoetmendez@MrsEppsMath @houstonisdwatch Those curriculum writers were not experts. They never received the appropriate training in curriculum and pedagogy. They were just teachers trying to do what they could. HISD has never hired curriculum experts or invested in training the teachers they hire.
@houstonisdwatch The curriculum writer was fired, but nothing happened to the people in charge of vetting that assignment (yes, there was more than one person responsible for vetting that work). Where’s the accountability for all part @HISDSupe has been talking about?
Did @HISDSupe expect ridiculous salaries to incompetent leaders and pay cuts to those in the field would produce high-quality curriculum? Here’s the result of the lack of structure and organization and ridiculous assignments under his superintendency. @houstonisdwatch
@Dustyisawesome @houstonisdwatch @HISDSupe @HISDMultiPrgms @HISDSPED People would say shame on
@HISDSupe and CAO Hole. Reality is that no department is doing their part. Some don’t know and some have preferred their 150K+ salary. Otherwise, how do Directors of @HISDMultiPrgms and @HISDSPED allow this? Why? It’s clear.
Teachers keep complaining about ELA. The ONLY Curriculum Map looks like a bad lesson plan from an unprepared teacher and there’s a lack of clarity. What’s next? No one knows. “Remaining standards”? Who invented this? It must be a joke.
@houstonisdwatch @HISDSupe
@Dustyisawesome @houstonisdwatch @HISDSupe What are you doing with English Learners and SpEd students? How are the departments of Multilingual and SPED helping you to support those children? Those lessons are created for Tier 1 instruction, with no strategies or accommodations for them. Shame on @HISDMultiPrgms @HISDSPED
@liljeannie1966@houston_tsta Not only that. Teachers keep complaining about ELA. Those Curriculum Maps are a joke too, they look like a bad lesson plan and there’s a lack of clarity. What’s next? No one knows. In the history of HISD, Curriculum Maps, Calendar, and Scope & Sequence were ready since August.
@houstonisdwatch What’s going on with the Curriculum Department that sailors (especially Coordinators 1 and 2) are abandoning the ship? Is it sinking already?
Can we anticipate a lawsuit against HISD for underserving emergent bilinguals in NES campuses?

@Laughteris85747 @houstonisdwatch TEA happened. When you put someone clueless about pedagogy on top leadership positions, this happens. They came with a plan which plan is no plan. Evidently, it will affect several departments, beginning with the most important one.
The Professional Development Team from Curriculum has no clue about the grade levels and content they’ll present to campus leaders. How can you train someone in something how’ve no idea about? @houstonisdwatch
