There a customs, practices, traditions, artefacts that are lost forever for Aang. There are things in his culture he will never know, he has to teach himself any new bending style he finds.

Ppl don't even respect his culture anymore look at his fan club tattooing themselves with the arrows because they don't know the significance of them. Katara is the last water bender in the SWT but Aang is the last airbender no LAST AIR NOMAD IN THE WORLD.
