🧵Thread of some of the most legendary performances in Rock History👇🏻
1. The Beatles performing "Get Back" at their legendary rooftop concert, 1969.
This was their last performance together.
Earlier this year he shared his story with RBL as part of our exhibition honouring the lives and legacies of the D-Day generation: https://t.co/Yhmqj9djNE
Our thoughts are with Don’s wife Sandra and all of his family.
We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of D-Day veteran Don Sheppard.
After serving in North Africa and Sicily in WW2, Don landed on Juno Beach on 6 June 1944 and spent three months as a despatch rider and driver in Normandy.
It’s that time again - join us this Saturday 11 November for the Royal British Legion #FestivalofRemembrance. The festival pays tribute to our Armed Forces community, and all those who have put everything on the line and made great sacrifices for our freedom. (1/3)
Waiting At The Door...
I was just a pup when we first met,
I loved you from the start,
you picked me up and took me home
and placed me in your heart.
Good times we had together,
we shared all life could throw,
but years passed all too quickly.
my time has come to go.
I know how much you miss me,
I know your heart is sore,
I see the tears that fall when
I'm not Waiting at the Door.
You always did your best for me
your love was plain to see,
for even though it broke your heart
you set my spirit free.
So please be brave without me,
one day we'll meet once more,
for when you're called to Heaven
I'll be Waiting at the Door.
