The Canadian Association for Professional Apiculturist(CAPA) conducts a study every year on hive losses. Starvation is unfortunately in the top 4, year after year, for reasons hives did not make it through winter.

Hivetronics is doing a little experiment to see the affects of tar paper wrapped around a hive. 5.59 degrees celcius no tar paper. 10.18 with tar paper. Sunny today outside temperature was 5 degrees.
