یہ آلٹو کار، جس میں لاہور کی رہائشی ایک فیملی سوار تھی، سمندری روڈ فیصل آباد پر ایک ایسی ٹرالی سے بجلی کی رفتار سے جا ٹکرائی جو گنے سے مکمل طور پر لوڈ تھی اور سڑک کے کنارے پر کھڑی ہوئی تھی۔ اس المیہ حادثے میں خواتین سمیت سات افراد، جن میں معصوم بچے بھی شامل ہیں، اپنی جان سے ہاتھ دھو بیٹھے۔ افسوس ناک بات یہ ہے کہ اس کار میں ائیر بیگ کا کھلنا تو بہت دور کی بات تھی، اور حادثے کا اثر اتنا شدید تھا کہ گاڑی پلاسٹک کی بوتل کی طرح اکٹھی ہو گئی۔ یہ کار، جسے لوگ محض ایک ٹین ڈبہ کہتے ہیں، کی قیمت 30 لاکھ روپے سے زائد ہے، حالانکہ اس کی ساخت اور حفاظتی اقدامات اس کی قیمت سے کہیں کم ثابت ہوئے۔ یہ حادثہ ایک یاد دہانی ہے کہ زندگی کی قدر کرتے ہوئے ٹیکنالوجی اور حفاظتی موازنوں کو بھی بہتر بنانا کس قدر ضروری ہے۔
