The police brutality towards unarmed citizens at the Prince Edward MTR station on 31 August seven years ago left an indelible scar on the people of #HongKong.
Today, we commemorate the ‘8.31 incident’ not only to stand in solidarity with the victims, but also to remind the world about the tragic transformation of Hong Kong into a police state, to ensure that Hong Kong stands on the international agenda.
As remembrance of key anniversaries like this has become increasingly dangerous for those in Hong Kong, it is vital that those of us who have freedom continue to do so on their behalf. We continue to call for accountability from responsible officials for past and ongoing human rights violations.

7 yrs ago today, during the 2019 mass protests, riot police rampaged through Prince Edward MTR station, indiscriminately beating & pepper-spraying citizens. 65 in all were arrested. It was the last straw in fraying police-citizen relations. #HongKong's since become a #PoliceState
Hong Kong pro-democracy campaigner Joshua Wong has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to collude with foreign forces, his second conviction under a Beijing-imposed national security law following a landmark subversion case.

Honored to be featured by Fulbright on this amazing program’s 75th anniversary! I credit that year in Hong Kong for launching me on my career in journalism and public service. https://t.co/2cKaH2QPeE
1/ I don’t often speak in my professional capacity as a Hong Kong–born, UK-chartered construction professional (MRICS, MAPM, NECReg, among others). But I need to address inaccurate reporting about bamboo scaffolding in the Hong Kong Tai Po fire.

@TheHubCanada@elie_mcn@RM_Transit Thanks for the great article. In depth 👍🏻 Funny is the giant news company like CBC never told the cost estimate by Trudeau was a lie. UK HS2 cost 60B~80B GBP with much shorter length
Profoundly disturbing 👇

Shame on @WSJ to fire @selina_cheng, the newly elected chairperson for the @HKJA_Official. WSJ's stand on journalism and freedom of the press are just words on their publications.
