@cosmiclaurel@LAScott75 just connecting you two. Scott is my husband. He was going to message you and I figured a mysterious new user might get lost in the noise.
Confirmed: Yes, Apple and Google require social media apps to have a block feature:
From Apple App Store guidelines:
"The ability to block abusive users from the service."
So, X/Twitter should not be able to remove the block feature.
@CathJSweeney ..and then pick up where I left off on another device on Tweetdeck. I can quickly/easily add new columns based on searches I'm interested in at the moment. I can't do any of those things on the regular UI.
@CathJSweeney My use of Twitter is entirely list based and Tweetdeck makes that usable. If I'm reading the news, I'm scrolling through the news list that I've curated. I have a Personal list of people I know that I want to catch every post. I can clear a tweetdeck column when I'm caught up..
@cosmiclaurel I am juuuust about at my fucking limit. The demise of Tweetdeck is an absolute dealbreaker for me for usability, but so far I've been able to keep it working. Removing blocking may be an ethical dealbreaker for me. I'm waiting and watching for now.
So I can still see Tweetdeck on my desktop. I'm guessing it will go away as soon as I refresh the page? Basically I'm good until my next Windows update.
@CynthiaDelmar @TheAntiM@FishWithSticks I just followed as well Cynthia. I was just popping on here to see if she responded after noticing a couple odd posts. Thanks.
@cosmiclaurel Sure. Thanks! I thought I signed up for beta ages ago but I don’t recall ever getting one.
I had some hope for Threads for a minute but the lack of search is a dealbreaker on that one.
So Tweetdeck is totally borked and I find myself on actual Twitter for the first time in years. This UI is awful, how do you people manage over here? If I'm stuck with https://t.co/Qr3BSLePiq, I think I'm finally out. Hoping it's temporary. #FingersCrossed
