@LangmanVince This is 100% truth and what most people don’t understand about USA Soccer.
Imagine Deion Sanders, Bo Jackson, and Michael Jordan all growing up playing soccer as their favorite sport.
@Marty7462844102@The_StilesFiles Mike brown did just as bad with a similar roster. Give Doug a chance with a decent roster. The best coach in the league would have crashed out last year with the Kings roster and issues.
@heykevinjohn This team relied on Fox being “the guy” and he just didn’t want to be that. Fox had the talent, just not the desire. That’s not even a knock on him. Just an unfortunate reality for the Kings…. And now the Spurs who paid him a max deal.
@RunWithFox Webber and Mitch for sure. I’m not as high on Cousins. He was like Fox to me in that he put up a lot of numbers and had tremendous impact, but also had some glaring downsides that hurt the team too often.
A common bad take I hear regarding Summer League is “playing against guys who will be flipping burgers next week”. The same person raves about NCAA accolades. Summer League is a WAY more talented league than NCAA, only the best of the best of NCAA.
@IMan254@RunWithFox I’m on the side of playing the younger guys, but more reps/time doesn’t always make players better. Reps on bad teams can encourage bad habits and make a player worse. Practice does not = perfect. Perfect practice = perfect.
@IMan254@RunWithFox I get your point ablut playing the younger players. I disagree about being “way” past his prime. He’s only 31, he’s actually in his athletic prime.
I just don’t get the hate for the guy. He’s been a pro, he’s a good player, and by all accounts a good guy.
@KingMarthers Furthermore there is very little correlation to athleticism and playing ability to coaching. If size and athleticism were a pre-requisite, Michael Jordan would be the greatest coach of all time and Mike Malone would have no business being on a coaching staff.
@KingMarthers Not my favorite player by I had season tickets during his playing days with the Kings and saw everyone of his games. He was known as a relentless defender who defended well despite his small size. That was well known by anyone following the Kings or basketball,
@KingMarthers No. You know nothing about basketball because you said something that is just blatantly untrue by any metric and void of any observable date. Then when people called you out, you doubled down and acted like an asshole using examples (size) that negate your own logic.
@KingMarthers Well, while you’re laying awake at night, you can read some books about basketball and learn a little about the sport.
I’ll tell Bobby you said “hi” the next time I see him.
@o_a_khan It’s only his second game in the NBA with almost zero practice with the team. EVERYONE has an adjustment period coming from NCAA to G-League. Acuff is doing great, You also have young players going all out on D with zero fear of fouling, and playing for their NBA lives,
@MattGeorgeSAC I have such mixed feeling about Demar. Such a good person and an amazing talent, but at the same time, I absolutely hate his iso style of play. It just isn’t winning basketball, he gets his number but at what cost?
So much hype about Acuff’s scoring ability and well deserved, but was really pops off the screen to me is his ball handling and passing. The Kings haven’t had a ball handler of that caliber since JWill. DA5 can be a true floor general.
@MattGeorgeSAC G-League talent is elite College talent. The G-League is a considerable step above NCAA.
If anyone wants to dismiss G-League competition, then we have to dismiss any NCAA accomplishments as “it was just against college guys”
