What can help to explain the association between brain injury and behavioural problems in children? We explored impulsivity, callous-unemotional traits and childhood adversity. Congratulations @hks_khalaf - a fantastic first first author paper!
A young woman so psychotic she was pulling off her clothes was kept in an emergency department FOUR days because NO mental health bed could be found in ENGLAND.
Please retweet this is such an important story and was so hard to source.

Matt Hancock has clearly broken the Covid rules that he himself put in place.
As a result, we believe he should resign immediately.
Please RT if you do too.
It cannot continue to be one rule for the people and another for those in government.

I was the on-call SpR psychiatrist last night in South London
I assessed people in a mental health crisis who needed emergency inpatient care
There was NOT A SINGLE PSYCHIATRIC BED AVAILABLE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY
If this was physical health, there would be outrage

#internationalwomensday2021 8/3/21 thinking about the success of women globally: courageous, strong, steadfast, intelligent, intuitive💜Applauding those who are: influencing but never seen, innovating but never acknowledged, the cornerstone yet overlooked #ChooseToChallenge2021
If you aren’t sure how to pronounce someone’s name when first meeting them then please ask directly. Don’t just assume you can abbreviate, e.g. Dr V. or G, or attempt and completely butcher their name.
Alienating and inflicting blame on a whole race of people instead of holding one’s own government accountable for combating covid.... this is absolutely disgusting
A child is 242 times more likely to have an eating disorder than they are to have type 2 diabetes.
Yet the vast majority of our public health education is spent warning parents (and kids) about “childhood obesity”.
Why? Fatphobia (not health).
Saying "use NHS #mentalhealth services if you need them" isn't only ignorant of the realities of pressures on services
It's setting people up w false expectations & has potential to cause real harm when people can't get the support they need, leading to feelings of worthlessness
