The United States of America is about to have a metaphorical biopsy. We will all watch the swing states outcomes, like we are refreshing MyChart every two to three business minutes for the pathology report. Let’s cope like we’re dealing with scanxiety until Wednesday.
For the first time in @AP 's history, we will offer a digital livestream of Tuesday night's US presidential election results.
I'm honored to be the anchor of this inaugural broadcast that will include expert discussions, live vote counts, rallies, and results from over 35 cameras nationwide.
Get real-time AP VoteCast survey results and live electoral map updates every 30 minutes.

We older women remember a lot, and therefore when we see the clear signs that prominent figures have the clear goal of controlling the lives of women, we know what we are seeing and understand the potential consequences. We didn't like it before, and we don't want it now.
Many don’t realize that the first people Hitler sent to his concentration camps weren’t everyday Jewish citizens, but his political opponents. So, when Trump rants about retribution, locking up his opponents, and giving them “very long sentences,” I can’t help but take him seriously… because history teaches us that is what fascist dictators do during their “Day One” period to consolidate their power. (After all, if you’re hellbent on staying in power but aren’t likely to win the next election, you can’t have your political opponents running around free.)
To keep fascism out of our lives, vote for democracy!
I’ll always defend your right to keep and bear arms.
What I don’t support is putting guns in the hands of criminals.
William Timmons voted against preventing convicted domestic abusers from purchasing firearms for five years.
We can’t trust him to keep our communities safe.
Something that drives me nuts:
Rich people who brag about driving 10 year old vehicles.
You are putting the safety of yourself and your family at risk to make a point.
You need advanced tech like emergency braking, lane assist, blind spot monitoring.
It’s a stupid thing to do.
If you think my posts on where we need to improve public education is an opportunity to bash public education, you will be sorely disappointed.
Public education lifts countless children out of less than desirable situations. The opportunities it affords can be life changing.
Public education accepts everyone. Public education protects & affords a safe space, interventions, & food for hundreds of thousands. Many children live in situations you may have never dreamt it could be as bad.
Mass public education is the sole reason America became a great & unique nation & continues to be the superpower that it is. God help our nation if we ever turn away from public education.
As an employer & as an observer of people, I’ll generally hire, work with, & prefer to have a beer with someone with a public education over other forms.
Did you know 1 in 5 of our great-grandparents at the turn of the century were illiterate? It was 4 in 5 if black. Because of public education, that rate is now below 1% for white & black.
Did you know 3 in 10 students (300,000 children) live with their mom as a single parent? Did you know the median income for her is $35,000?
Did you know 1 in 10 students (80,000 children) live with their father as a single parent? Did you know the median income for him is $45,000?
Did you know 1 in 10 students (100,000 children) live in a home where the single parent or both parents don’t have a high school diploma?
Did you know 1 in 20 students (50,000 children) are disabled?
Did you know public education accepts these 400,000+ students as they are, which is approximately half of the student population?
Yes, we have & will always have issues to improve in public education. But don’t get it twisted, I will defend mass public education. Considering these & other societal ills, it’s impressive it does as well as it does.
Mass public education is arguably the best product ever invented by mankind in the history of mankind.
This is my friend's father Phillip Burns. He's been doing search and rescue for FEMA for seven days. No supplies "confiscated". Just people working hard and saving lives. Stop the lies!
Holy cow. Mark Cuban, once again, just appeared on a podcast listened to by primarily men & set the record straight about how it was actually Donald Trump who causes the cost of gas to increase with facts & logic. Mark Cuban is so freaking good at this.
🧵 Today I drove over to Montgomery/Toombs/Tattnall Cos, GA to assess pecan damage from Helene. I’ve been all over SE GA this week but nothing prepared me for what I saw & I’m not just talking pecans. Very poor part of our state. You won’t see it in the news but you should….
Boaters beware: We're drawing down the lakes to make room for a wall of water coming from NC. Lake water will fall and rise in the next few days. If you must be in a boat, use extreme caution, avoid the Spillway, and watch for rapid water currents. https://t.co/sViVYJe2Pi
Latest from Buncombe County, NC :
- The death toll now stands at at least 35
- More than 1,000 reports of missing people
- Distribution of food and water will finally begin, four days after thousands lost power and water
One photo that illustrates the magnitude of the event while showing the courage, hard work and passion of County crews (and many, many others) who have been working around the clock clearing trees from more than 400 roads.
Piedmont Baptist Association churches & the Easley YMCA offering meals, charging stations, food, laundry, tree removal, etc. Information in graphics. Thank y’all!
World Central Kitchen will start serving free meals at noon in downtown #Asheville at Bears barbecue on Coxe Avenue. They need volunteers. Just show up. #avlnews#avlhelene
