@ultras_antifaa We missed the GOAT playing his final world cup because of that coward Grondona, but at least we got to see this goal against Greece #maradona
@MuseumCommodore do a review of C64 cult classic Multi Player Soccer Manager. This game broke barriers and paved the way for the likes of championship manager many years later
A LEGEND WHO DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE FORGOTTEN
The great Robert Enke. The German goalkeeper competed against legends like Oliver Kahn and Jens Lehmann. He played for teams such as Monchengladbach, Barcelona, Hannover, Tenerife, and Fenerbahรงe. He was named Goalkeeper of the Year in 2006 and 2009 and won the Turkish Super League in 2004.
By 2009, he had already secured his position as Germanyโs starting goalkeeper following the retirements of Lehmann and Kahn. However, he was only able to participate in the 2008 Euro and the 1999 Confederations Cup.
Tragically, his young daughter passed away at just 2 years old due to a birth defect, leaving him devastated. Enke had been struggling with depression since his time at Barcelona but never wanted to make it public. The loss of his daughter exacerbated his struggles, and he ended his life on November 10, 2009.
Despite the tragedy, his death set an important precedent. With the support of the German Federation and his club, Hannover 96, the Robert Enke Foundation was created to provide mental health support for players and address pediatric heart conditions in honor of his daughter.
