How can you not be hopeful when the new generation of the Somali people recite Yamyam’s descriptive poem of who a Somali is. Recited by one of the youngest female Somali Ambassadors, Hodan Osman, “ I am a Somali” is a powerful poem that speaks to the raw and organic pride of the average Somali. It taps into the nature of the African person - the Somali - who refused to bow down to foreign forces. Her translation is perfect and easily understandable to non-Somali speakers.

We gathered with hundreds of people to honour the three women from Eastleigh who were tragically murdered on Tuesday by unknown assailants. The bodies of Waris Daud, her daughter Amina, and her niece Nuseiba were discovered in Parklands, Bahati, and Machakos, while the severed hands of one of the women were found in South C.

Alongside Nairobi Senator @edwinsifuna , we urged the police to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators of this terrible crime and to increase patrols in the area to enhance security and protect the lives of Eastleigh residents. I also encouraged the community to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding their neighbourhood.

How can the World allow Israel to commit such genocide against Palestinians in Gaza? How is it possible that humanity is ok with killing, maiming & orphaning of over 200,000 people, nearly 10% of total population? It is like 30m people in US, 140m in India … Why would Israel be allowed in such bloody & maniacal revenge on innocent women & children, not counting the complete destruction of Gaza? History will record Israel unchecked genocide & destruction of Gaza as when human conscience ended. What Israel is doing is comparable if not more evil than what Adolf Hitler did.
