Respected minister
I apologize if my comments hurt your feelings. I was addressing your policies and public statements — every citizen has the right to do so. If it felt personal, I’m sorry. I’ve said nothing false or personal.
Of course you can critique my work too.
But letting imagination fly into slander is low. Let’s stick to facts:
1Senate meeting (before you removed the Deputy Chairman) with the deputy chairman in the chair already recorded I didn’t want a 2nd term & started successor search. 50+ witnesses.
2I left on time
3I didn’t apply.
4I had no nominee — two outstanding candidates applied (Cambridge Dean & ex-IMF Deputy Governor). Proud to accept them as my nominees if you insist
5In most countries, an outgoing VC is consulted. Knowing you, I did not even ask. But that would have ensured merit
I hope these facts give you pause. Let’s stay with truth and accept honest criticism — that’s how real democracies work.
However I do believe that chancellors are a ceremonial position and if academia is to grow, they should not interfere in universities or think tanks.

Let us disagree pleasantly to engage in a debate on policy and economics and let people judge.
And I do think search committee in pakistan are rigged to produce desired outcomes.

I also think that the planning commission needs to change. I wrote about when I was there and after.

Modi has changed planning commission. Many countries have discontinued planning. We don’t really plan any more but we have the PSDP a political fund which is not needed any more.

My views on URAAN are meant to be constructive and helpful.

You would be a great planning minister if you could use such ideas and learn to respect difference of opinion.
There is nothing personal between you and me. I am a simple researcher with no ambition other than to sell ideas and no desire to kowtow to the powerful
We should be friends and debate. Nothing personal I am allowed to hold an opinion and back it up with knowledge. So are you. But not to fabricate
The Pakistan Conundrum
Few countries possess the advantages Pakistan has.
A young population.
A large diaspora.
An entrepreneurial culture.
A strategic location.
A rapidly growing digital workforce.
Yet few countries underperform their potential as consistently as we do.
Why?
That, to me, is the Pakistan Conundrum.
More than 51% of our population is female.
More than 65% is under the age of 30.
Our largest source of foreign exchange is remittances from Pakistanis working abroad.
Exports continue to grow.
Freelancers and technology professionals are now earning billions of dollars from global markets without ever leaving Pakistan.
These should be the foundations of prosperity.
Yet we still struggle to create enough opportunities at home.
The issue is not talent.
The issue is converting talent into productivity, innovation and enterprise.
People often ask me, “How do we fix Pakistan?”
My answer: We don’t.
We build windows of excellence.
Interloop. Systems. ABHI. Qist Bazaar. Crescent Model School.
None fixed Pakistan. Each proved excellence is possible in Pakistan.
Pakistan doesn’t need more critics.
It needs more builders.
Great idea ! However the problem with Pakistan is we have great ideas which are never implemented ! We have an emancipated Prime and Finance Minister , why don’t you use your influence with them to get it implemented ? And if all fails start a movement like the “Cockroach” movement in India to bring about his change!
@MManshaOfficial “Coming from Mian Mansha Sb, this praise carries real weight. He belongs to a rare league of Pakistani institution builders who recognize real execution over hype. Encouraging to see the next generation aiming globally in tech & AI. 🇵🇰🚀”
🇵🇰 The Pakistan Dilemma
Should we address our core issues, or keep blaming geopolitics, vested interests, robber barons, politicians, and bureaucracy?
Recently, someone asked me to name three major developments in Pakistan in recent times. Despite having some dynamic, trailblazing companies like #Interloop and #SystemsLtd, only these came to mind:
1️⃣ Policing on the Motorway – A game changer proving that if you give people an enabling environment, they don’t just comply; they excel with courtesy and pride.
2️⃣ Service at McDonald’s – Young professionals performing menial tasks with a smile, driven by training, pride in work, and the right management attitude.
3️⃣ Emergence of the Startup Ecosystem – Showing us that failure is not the end. This next breed of founders is learning, adapting, and chartering new frontiers.
However, no nation has climbed the prosperity ladder with 50% of its population excluded from the workforce and management. Bangladesh is a prime example of what can happen when you break that barrier.
We are seeing progress, but it is too slow. We need to do much more, and we need to do it now.

Recently attended the @dfdi2025 in Islamabad as a #Stateguest, it was badly organized and many tall claims were made. Wrote to @MoitOfficial and #pseb_offical about it, gave them a couple weeks to respond , but nothing happened. What gives?

@armani Bought cufflinks from your Dubai Mall store in Dubai UAE. They became unhinged after a couple of wearings.I am a regular buyer at that store and am surprised they have not bothered respond to my email and reminders on the same.
