Nothing inspires more optimism in me than people who not only embrace the season they’re in but make the most out of it. No comparing their current season to how “things were so much better back then”, only enjoying the one they’re in.
My favorite Chesterton idea is that you don't need the middle path but a marriage of extremes. You need to be intensely invested yet totally relaxed at the same time. Hate the world enough to change it, love it enough to consider it worth changing. Not balance but insane juggling

@HLussenden When my best friend was in a bad place and living with me, my partner put so much effort into making her feel comfortable. He drove hours to pick up her stuff from storage, included her in plans he made, and when he got me small presents and flowers, he would do the same for her.

bed at 9pm, waking up at sunrise, time in silence, sunbathing, long hikes in nature, home cooked meals, quitting alcohol, tallow on the skin, stretching & weightlifting, living by nature, filtering your water, moving out of toxic cities
