❌ MYTH: The Policing Performance System (PPS) means we'll stop carrying out PEEL inspections.
✅ REALITY: PEEL inspections will continue as normal.
The PPS strengthens how inspection findings are used between inspections to monitor progress and support improvement.

Today, HM Chief Inspector Michelle Skeer has moved @NlandFRS into our enhanced level of monitoring, known as Engage.
Our latest inspection found the service was inadequate in five areas, requires improvement in three areas, adequate in one area and good in one area.
We revisited @SWFireandRescue to review its progress since our last inspection.
The service has made good progress, and we have closed three recommendations.
However, the three causes of concern around how it understands risk, records risk and protects the public remain open.
We have published our inspection of the @metpoliceuk's integrity arrangements.
The force has made progress in removing people who shouldn't be in policing.
However, it requires improvement in vetting, professional standards and counter-corruption.
Our performance support toolkit and dedicated team are here to work with forces as they navigate the new @HMICFRS policing performance system. We’ll deliver practical support to identify and address the causes of performance issues: https://t.co/5HLN2Q2Cku

The new Policing Performance System is now live. Every police force in England and Wales has been assigned a performance level. Here's what that means ⤵️
Level Three is for more serious or systemic issues. Forces develop formal improvement plans with support from across the system.
Level Four (Special Measures) applies when performance failings are critical, with the highest level of oversight and accountability.
