How you know that something globally dreadful is about to happen?
HATE.
It’s is at an all time high; cloaked in patriotism, nationalism, defense of borders & resources; justifiable and acceptable. The gloves of standard human decency are off, being PC is finally dead.
Now we can feast our devilish lust for hate with all the freedom in the world, and the support of your neighbour who looks like against the neighbour who doesn’t; especially the oppressed one who fled their own home to seek refuge in yours.. now you are free to hate them.
@GandarLilly @Brcremer The Lord needs no favors - especially in the form of a government decree to force people to listen to His word. He is powerful and wonderful enough for people to choose Him themselves, as they’ve been doing since Jesus..
The fact that you don’t know that…. shameful
@Salty_Simonson @Brcremer Well, in your attempt to gain the favour of your political choice, you’re abusing the holy text….
It’s terrible when the Bible is quoted where wisdom, discernment and love are lacking. @Brcremer is clearly not ashamed of Jesus words, but maybe you should be of yours.
We are actually living in a time where Christians see mercy as offensive, empathy as a sin, and diversity, equity, and inclusion as a threat.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness.” -Isaiah 5:20
Lord, have mercy.
@ruizdiego @TerrifyingClip And you’re the authority on invisible higher entities I take it? Sure, pure luck is entirely plausible in your view but a higher authority is a not? Guess we’re all believers… either in something or nothing
@savebyj@tweetraychang@JenniferEValent The things you have mentioned are not because of the church’s alignment with the left; each one of those can also be said of the church’s alignment with the right.
They are because the church is misaligned with Jesus. You’re trying to balance an unbalanceable scale
A Christianity that sees the world as being full of enemies to be conquered rather than full of neighbors to be loved is a Christianity that has stopped listening to Jesus along time ago.
When Christians can’t even acknowledge the sins of the person they support as president, let alone demand they repent from them, they reveal to the world that they have traded all moral and theological integrity for the sake of political power.
The greatest theological tragedy in the Scriptures (beyond our Edenic ejection) is in 1 Samuel 8: when God’s people beg him for a king. God tells them that their king will exploit and dominate them, but they want a king like the other nations.🧵
Interesting how it's always "vote according to Biblical values!" until it comes to welcoming the immigrant, helping the poor, feeding the hungry, bringing healthcare to the sick, forgiving debts, caring for our planet, laying down our swords, or loving our neighbors.
@aheartforgod@pastordmack 4. Sad to see sermon illustrations about “specks in your brother’s eye and a plank in your own” writing themselves write here on X. We must do better
@aheartforgod@pastordmack 3. What does “correct, rebuke and encourage m, with great patience and careful instruction@ mean, if not to hold each other accountable before God? If you can call Dwight and Russell out, why can’t they call others out in turn? Are you contradicting yourself?
@aheartforgod@pastordmack 2. You conclude, by your self, that Russell Moore preaches the law (without providing the justification of such a conclusion) then proceed to accuse him of preaching a false gospel; judge, jury and executioner all rolled into one. Failing to live up to your X handle yourself
@aheartforgod@pastordmack Sorry sir, what you have spoken is neither the truth nor is in love.
1. You say “But we don't go around shaming and scolding other Christians as if we ourselves are somehow keeping God's Law and not failing, too”.. simultaneously shaming and scolding another Christian.
