HMS Spey has arrived in Port Klang, 🇲🇾 Malaysia, ahead of Exercise Bersama Lima 2026 under the Five Powers Defence Arrangements (FPDA) 🇦🇺🇬🇧🇲🇾🇳🇿🇸🇬.

HMS Tamar will also join the exercise.

The @RoyalNavy @HMS_Spey made a port call at Port Klang 🇲🇾 as part of its deployment to the Indo-Pacific. HC @AjaySharmaFCO hosted a reception on board the ship yesterday, where he reiterated Britain’s continued commitment to regional security, peace and international law.

The Philippine Navy welcomed Commander Dan Briscoe RN, Commanding Officer, HMS Spey (P234) of the British Royal Navy during a courtesy call on May 6, 2026 at the Navy Headquarters.

Representing the Flag Officer In Command, Captain Laurence Calimag PN, Deputy Commander of the Littoral Combat Force, Philippine Fleet, received Commander Briscoe during the call.

During their meeting, both navies discussed matters of mutual interest and expressed optimism for future engagements.

The engagement also reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Philippine Navy and the Royal Navy to further strengthen bilateral ties as well as to enhance maritime security cooperation in the region.
