Today, I delivered the keynote address at the CIED Green Investment Pitch Event organised by Startup Kano Centre for Innovation Development in partnership with the Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement (PACE), where we witnessed a range of innovative and practical climate-smart solutions presented by emerging startups in Kano. The quality of the solutions and the level of investment readiness demonstrated reflect the strength of the enabling policy environment we have established through the State Climate Change Policy, its implementation framework, and our ongoing climate finance readiness efforts. These startups are direct beneficiaries of a coordinated approach that aligns policy, capacity development, and enterprise support.
One of the participating startups, which we have pledged to fully support, is already utilising one of our facilities at the Dorayi Compost Plant. This demonstrates the practical impact of our interventions in connecting innovation to infrastructure and enabling real sector application. It also reinforces our commitment to ensuring that climate solutions developed within the State are supported to move beyond concept into implementation.
On behalf of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, we pledged a token of support to all participating startups to ensure that their solutions do not remain at the level of pitch presentations but proceed to implementation. We remain committed to positioning Kano State as climate investible by providing the necessary institutional support for all bankable climate projects.
