I did an entire module on Greek and Roman myth and the lecturers delivering that course were nowhere near as snotty about modern receptions of myths as people on Twitter.
I have never wanted a team to win more than I wanted Belgium to win. Not even for Sunderland to beat Newcastle. Get in Belgium for beating those cheating Yanks.
Looked at the queue for the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition at about 8pm and it was 81000. Woke up at half four, checked again and it was still in the several thousands. Long story short, an hour later and I’ve got a ticket for November 😀.
Series 6 is where Steven Moffatt disappeared up his own arse. Series’ 7 & 8 were bad. Series 9 could have been saved if Moffatt had kept Clara dead instead of doing that time-y-wime-y bullshit, but alas, he fucked that one up. Series 10 was better but I’ve forgotten most of it.
As someone who doesn’t have a particularly healthy relationship with food after being told that pretty much every food was unhealthy as a child in the 90s, I can attest this assertion is not true.
One of my favorite parts about the 90s is we just ate whatever food we wanted. Food was food. No one argued about what food was bad and what food was healthy. We just minded our business in general. At least that’s how I remember it
You saw this with Joss Whedon. After it came out how shitty he was, people were trying to say that he was never a good writer. Like, seriously, think of an iconic Buffy moment and he wrote it. Good writer, shitty human. Both can be true.
You see how much damage tumblr did to people's brain because they really don't understand that people can be mean/awful people and STILL be good at their work field lmao Just because you dislike a person, famous or not, that doesn't mean the person is bad at their job
The thing is, Americans don’t match the energy. They push it too far so, what starts as banter, quickly descends into just being mean. Banter is just making fun of each other but Americans see it as a competition to win.
It’s wild. They expect ppl to not say anything back, then get super defensive when Americans match the energy
It basically goes like:
Brits: Americans are fat, stupid, uncultured, loud, and everything wrong with the world.
Americans: go to a dentist.
Brits: Wow. So sensitive!
Never been so happy to be wrong. Not only did we stay up, we beat Newcastle twice, came above them in the league and got a place in a European cup. What a day to be an #SAFC fan.
