NYR got LA Kings’ top forward prospect in deal for Panarin. Considering how limited Drury’s options were, this is a good deal for a 20-year-old with significant upside. Liam Greentree will be an NHL top-six regular long after Panarin has left the league.

Patrick Kane to become ninth former No. 1 overall draft pick to play for #NYR. The others: Lafleur, Lawton, Lindros, Hamrlik, Daigle, Berard, Nash, Lafreniere. On that note, if Rangers don't win Stanley Cup with Kane this year, it will easily be biggest letdown in team history.

Never thought #NYR would make a better goaltending draft pick than @HLundqvist30 at No. 205 in 2000, but Igor Shesterkin at No. 118 in 2014 looks like sheer drafting genius. Wow, he's good. Might be best pure puck-stopper since Hasek in prime. He will get #NYR into 2020 playoffs.
