A Russian kid fell to us in the draft, put up 60+ pts as a rookie at 20 yrs old. Came in his sophomore year “out of shape” & extremely misused in both 5v5 & the power play, yet he still reached 20G & 50+ pts. It’s the coach’s job to fit this player in his team, period.
Everyone saying “why wasn’t michkov in such and such situation”
You’re missing the point. There is no plan for him to be used on this current team. There was never any path to him being a larger part. And there’s NO REASON to believe he ever will be under Rick Tocchet
Wow this team is so not even close and tocchett is gonna be here forever because we made it past the first round of the playoffs. I wouldn’t blame 39 for requesting a trade at all
Going into a must-win game, Matvei Michkov is put with Barkey & Grundstrom, and plays a team-low 9:29…
Mich played 6 minutes less than Glendening… 9 minutes less than Coots…& played less than Hathaway.
Also had a team-low 12 shifts.
Still tied for most shots on goal (2).
@charlieo_conn@Anth_Chatburn@PHLY_Flyers Grundstrom = forechecking nonfactor
Luchanko = speedy 200 ft center, potential pk, hint of playmaking
U tell me which one this lineup needs more
I asked Noah Cates about linemate Matvei Michkov’s assist on the winner tonight after getting benched
“He got his chances and and was flying tonight, so, good on him to take it for what it was and come back hungry and ready to help the team.”
