Powerful video by vic grain grower @hocking_russell on the urgent need for rural road funding, with thousands of roads across Australia like the Prairie-Rochester Rd, still requiring repairs months after the flooding @GrainGrowersLtd
“Our local roads are the key to providing grain to Aust & it’s disheartening to see repairs that are crucial to our business being bumped for bigger projects..long term, the funding model isn’t working. It needs to change”@hocking_russell@GrainGrowersLtd https://t.co/hqJVLWl64u

Grain trade insolvencies have cost the industry over $100 million in the last decade. The current system of 30-60 day payment terms places an unfair portion of the credit risk on growers. 2 day payment terms should be the industry norm not the exception.
@Jess_H19 Write a submission for the Rating System Review that is currently taking place. Keep reminding councils, MP’s that rural people also need safe roads for families to use and roads fit for purpose for our businesses. We need a new sustainable local govt funding model.@LouiseStaley
