I hate the feeling of talking to someone and silently realizing I’ve hit the limit of the conversation’s Overton window, like I can’t say more because it would be too taboo for you, so I won’t bother saying it because there’s going to be an unfillable gap that makes the conversation futile—no matter how much I explain it, I can’t understand it for you the way I understand it in my mind, not because one of us is dumb or closeminded but because there’s just a fundamental difference between our worldviews that make it hard to see things from the same starting point…does that make sense?
