SIK Pre-Season Player to Watch: Hoisington’s (2A) Layton Hoffman returns as a physical presence in the trenches heading into his senior season. The 6’1”, 285-pound two-way lineman plays center and nose guard and was named to the Non-Senior All-State First Team after a standout junior season. Hoffman is a multi-sport athlete who’s also a 3x state qualifier in track and field and placed 5th in the state in discus last spring. “I’m ecstatic about this upcoming season. We have a lot of experienced players returning and a lot of promising young guys that will step up,” Hoffman said. In the weight room, Hoffman benches 250, cleans 285, and squats 425. Hoisington made an late season run last season finishing 6-5 on the year and look to continue that success into the 2025 season. Key returning teammates to watch for Hoisington include Mason Martin, Carson Mason, and Taylen Morales. #sportsinkansas
