going through a dog application process is somehow a worse experience than a job application through workday. they wanna know the entire lore of my life .. dogs used to just appear in my house like a gift from heaven so this feels like a lot of work
@whoisfiji_ Not doubting it, I’ve seen boyfriends smell their gfs periods before it arrives (my ex was this + said he could smell ants). Was moreso curious about the random people in the street and the confidence level that the particular scent isn’t just something else
@clairyfication@nielautomata OP wasnt doing that, but I think people resorting to lying about the situation strongly indicates the moral outrage was flimsy to begin with
@vigintuple Would be curious to see how you quantitatively measured this, do you have the numbers? Or is it, again, vibes based (ie. objective)? But because you seem concerned with gentrification, perhaps google trader joes gentrification. and then decide if you think it’s doing a net good.
@vigintuple if your $5 orange chicken from trader joes is a basic necessity why isn’t it provided for free? Seems terrible a company would profit off of something people need to survive. Doesn’t seem objectively better at all.
@heyrow@vigintuple I’m genuinely baffled. if for example some Asian farmer’s labor was exploited for a supermarket to sell a product cheaper, it’s ok and actually good as long as another Asian in the global north benefits from getting to buy it for cheap? Amazing news.
@vigintuple do you think trader joe’s having cheaper prices than like a boutique ice cream store is just because they wanted to be nice/woke and that the food in the store appeared there magically without any farming or labor involved ?
