Can, and Do, I trust my Leaders to step up when I can’t be there? Absolutely! Day 3 of our @FultonCoSchools IT Leadership Retreat has been Amazing!
And I couldn’t be prouder of our team!
While I was out sick with the flu and strep, our Deputy CIO Kenya Williams and Professional Assistant Jamika Flanagan stepped up in a big way and led the day’s events with incredible focus and dedication, while keeping me in the loop via @MicrosoftTeams.
These two Leaders are Amazing!
and it’s absolutely wonderful knowing I can rely on them to step up at a moment’s notice!
For Day 3, our Leaders shared their Personal Leadership Stories and aligned our 3 IT Division Strategic Goals with our District’s overall Strategic Plan.
Our IT Leadership Retreats are more than just meetings—they are foundational as we build our IT Leadership Playbook and help drive Transformation and Support Student Success across our district.
Transformation starts at the Leadership level because strong, aligned Leaders set the tone, create the vision, and inspire action.
As a recap of our Retreat Series so far:
Day 1 covered my PDMRSA Framework “The Helium” (Purpose, Direction, Motivation, Resources, Support, Accountability), discussing key concepts like the Feedback/Pushback Continuum and my Rocks and Balloons Analogy. Big thanks to Ben Bramlett and Standard Office Systems of Atlanta for sponsoring our event at the @museum76281 Computer Museum Of America.
Day 2 focused on Leadership tools like the Leadership Decision-Making Process, creating COAs (Courses of Action), defining AORs (Areas of Responsibility), and understanding Leadership Intent. We also reinforced accountability through the Doctrine of Completed Staff Work and focuses on how to create Action Plans.
Special Thank You to Kenrick Church and @Microsoft for hosting our retreat at their Atlanta office. And Special Thank You to Keith McDermott and @EPIUSELabs for sponsoring our meals today.
These Leadership retreats are crucial as we continue to refine our leadership approach, ensuring we are prepared to lead with purpose, execute with precision, and drive meaningful innovation in education technology for our district.

@DOBrienATL@DOBrienATL we appreciate you and your work this year. Can’t imagine following the Braves without your insight! Hopefully we have a few more weeks to go!
As a father and educator, I am proud and impressed that my daughter came to the realization about student ownership of learning so quickly…it took me nearly 10 years to really understand this important fact. #prouddad#proudeducator
From storyboarding to filming, @TheMViD students are producing high-quality, industry standard marketing content for their client, @ArdensGardenATL. The most challenging and rewarding part of #studentled work is how incredible they are when teachers get the heck out of their way!
Ok, we've been waiting to announce this and now we can!!! #Vancon 2022- Return to the MAGIC!!! We will see you on June 18th at the GA Tech Conference center and hotel! SO EXCITED to see y'all there! @FCS_InstrTech#fcsinstructionaltech#FcsVanguard
