I am delighted to ‘takeover’ the #workinheritage Twitter account this week. #workinheritage shares the experiences of people working in the heritage sector. I have been reading the previous tweets over the past few weeks with fascination and have big shoes to fill!

@RobCross247 @RobLooseCannon Also the Built Heritage Investment scheme (administered by the Local Authority Conservation Officers) is also available for owners who have a Protected Structure in need of conservation work. This year grants of up to E50K (20% match funding req’d) are available to help owners.

Dublin City Council Heritage and the Royal Dublin Society are convening a joint symposium on Friday 22nd November in the Wood Quay Venue to mark the 150th anniversary of the death of John Henry Foley (1818-74), one of the foremost sculptors of the Victorian period in Ireland and Britain and known for such works as the O’Connell Monument, and the Henry Grattan, Oliver Goldsmith and Edmund Burke public sculptures on College Green.
