@AllTheBarrels@osucowboytc Yes, I said that. Their intentions seem like they genuinely care about scripture when in reality they’re defending a political side. Josh doesn’t hide it, they do.
Dude you’re smarter than this. I’m not hiding that I lean right and more conservative. I’m pretty sure I’ve said that on here before. I can put it in all caps if that makes it louder. I’m not trying to hide anything.
My original issue was the attacks began around Josh’s theology, his sermons, etc. when those issues were not truly the concern. It was always the politics. My point, start there.
I’m not sure how else I need to express this.
I’m “triggered” because the majority of people “triggered” by Josh’s political stance attacked him behind a wall of “scripture matters” and “The Bible says this” when in reality they are left-leaning. It is purely that.
It is like the Pharisees, they cared more about their traditions than the actual word of God.
That is why I’m “triggered”. Stop masquerading your issues and just come out straight and say you don’t side with Josh politically.
Josh is very political in the public square. I get that.
What I’m pointing out is that progressives have stopped going after his theology. At first the talking points were about his theology, his sermons, and so on. It was never really about that.
That’s what I’m calling out. From the beginning it was about politics, but progressives tried to paint it as something else. In my opinion, that was deceitful.
I'm not criticizing Josh. I'm criticizing the people criticizing him on a faulty basis.
First it was his theology. Then it was his sermon illustrations (the ladders). Now we're finally down to what progressive Christians actually dislike about Josh: that he is conservative.
So spare me the concern about being scripturally sound or theologically correct. The critics just don't like that he leans right. And as someone who leans right, I'm glad to see a pastor speak up and go after nonsense.
@NoSup4u@BigJohnFarris@osucowboytc Let me catch you up. Tyler started off by questioning Josh’s theology, making it appear scripture was the basis of his concern.
We all knew that was not Tyler’s issue, but rather it was politics.
Now it is clear as day. It was never about scripture or theology.
