It’s important that you read classic literature and myths and folklore and the great poets because then all their wisdom and weirdness and passion will be rattling around in your head and you will become a poem. YOU are the data center and no one can take that from you.

I was telling a friend I’ve never enjoyed the “enemies to lovers” trope coz I’ve only ever been attracted to men worship the ground I walk on or are scared of me. And she’s like “have you ever considered that you might be the enemy in the enemies to lovers trope” 😭😂😂
Romance itself is dying because of illiteracy. When you read letters from the Civil War era, men were shockingly lyrical because they had heads full of poetry. Literacy fuels passion. Beauty, wisdom, empathy, passion are vanishing from the world because people don’t read.

Books have largely disappeared from kids' movies & television because showrunners fear alienating kids who don't read. But I promise you: if you write beloved books into your shows, if your characters read for pleasure, there will be young viewers who fall in love with reading.
