"This trade war is not between China and the U.S. It's a war between China's most powerful political interest group on one side, while the U.S. and the people of China are on the other." https://t.co/ete8vfROfM

Confused about what exactly Xi and Trump promised each other yesterday?

Here's a side-by-side comparison of the readouts from both sides. The U.S. on the left, China on the right

Very True. China has violated the WTO in subsidy across a host of Industries: Cotton, Corn, Industrial Commodities. ITO found subsidies of over 100% in Polyester Fiber dumping in US market in July report. It also placed import duty on WTO protected import quota for cotton.

[ed jernigan @globalej]

The ICAC has released its study of cotton subsidies , China accounted for 72% of all global subsidies. This did not include the cost of the Reserve storage and then auction below cost which will double subsidy levels. Yet where has the WTO been as global cotton growers suffer .

[Shawn @holladayfarms]

Thats the last of it. 2018 crop is in the books. Glad its over. The only rain it had all year was a flood after it was ready to harvest. Come on next year.😃

[Shawn @holladayfarms]

This harvest begs for long hours when we are able to run. We need to be mindful when we access our mental state as well as our employees. Nothing is worth getting someone hurt. Be careful and deliberate out there. Be aware of what you are asking of yourself and your employees.

Every synthetic fiber ever produced likely still exist in our waters and land. In 30 years, it could be 3 times as much as it is today. Thanks Berrye Worsham and Cotton Inc for framing the discussion on sustainable fiber consumption at the Sourcing USA Summit. @COTTONUSAglobal

[Shawn @holladayfarms]

@QShieldknight We have been running but really the last two days is the first time this season we have ran well.

[Shawn @holladayfarms]

Whew

[Shawn @holladayfarms]

@CBKimbrell Yuk

[Shawn @holladayfarms]

Weatherman says first rain then snow. Say it ain’t so. Just started running good since the last rain today. We are at 15% harvested. Should be 60

[Shawn @holladayfarms]

Great leader and better friend. May not look like it but it will be OK. Any producer that has been around very long has been there. It aint fun. We have all payed that tuition and didnt enjoy the lesson. Farmers are fierce in their resilience. Because they have no choice!

Fan drive CS690 failed. @johndeere knows the drives r a major design flaw. I have extended warranty on machine & found out 2day warranty excludes fan drive n fine print. #johndeere is not standing behind known defect even with extended warranty. $4664.53 plus a day lost harvest.
