For the last ten years or so, I’ve promoted our work ethic scholarship program by talking about how difficult it is to give away a million dollars without lowering our standards. This year, for the first time, I’m unable to say that. As of last week, we have ten times the number of applicants we had this time last year, and many of these applicants are excellent. Consequently, I’ve committed to awarding $2.5 million dollars in scholarships this month, but the truth is, we could award a lot more, if we had a lot more money. And so, I’m doing a number of things to bolster the coffers, including a fundraiser this Thursday in Baltimore.
What started out as a pretty simple appearance and whiskey tasting, has turned into a thang at the legendary Guilford Hall. Details are attached, but here’s the short version – during the afternoon of the 20th, there will be music, self-guided tours of the Guilford brewery, (which is epic), whiskey tastings, and so forth. Then, around 1pm, people are invited to watch me be interviewed by local favorite, Gerry Sandusky, and then stick around for a quick photo. Tickets include a bottle of Knobel Tennessee Whiskey, and whatever sparkling conversation might ensue.
Then, later that same evening, there’s a dinner at Guilford Hall, which should be pretty great. They’ll be more music, more whiskey, an auction, and God knows what else. All I know for sure is I’ll be there, assuming I survive the afternoon.

Should be a fun day for a good cause. Tickets are still available for both events, and if you’re in the hood, I’d love to see you at either. Or both!
We love the music and the stories. He puts on such a great show, taking you back to his beginnings, bring back some great memories, when I used to ride around in the work truck with no a/c, but it had a cassette player and T's latest cassette. He had a band this time. It's great!
