JOE Rossi: Represents Truth and Nothing But Truth

Joe Rossi has left us way too soon and moved on to heaven Monday after a brief battle with Stage 4 cancer. Joe was a chemistry teacher, former Frito Lay executive, fisherman and one of the top election integrity experts in Georgia. Joe was well known for his integrity, sincerity, dedication, attention to detail and just being one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. He has received many accolades for being honest, humble, polite, principled and faithful. But I want to memorialize just a couple of his major election integrity accomplishments.

Joe was the person who took evidence to Governor Kemp showing that the 2020 Fulton County hand count audit never matched the original results. While I expected that would be a lost cause, Joe persevered until the Governor’s office agreed with us, sent a letterrequesting the State Election Board (SEB) to investigate and published a study corroborating virtually all of the discrepancies produced by David Cross and a team of volunteers.

But Joe did not stop there in documenting the discrepancies. Joe filed SEB2021-181, the SEB a complaint that lead to a consent decree between Fulton County and the Attorney General’s office. Joe also co-authored the most significant, important and impactful SEB complaint in SEB history. That complaint, SEB2023-025, concerned Fulton County’s overall handling of the 2020 election and resulted in 346 serious violations being discovered, more serious violations in one case than the board has discovered in all the 20 years I have been attending meetings.

I was honored that Joe allowed me to present some of the SEB2023-025 evidence at a July 2024 SEB meeting to help show that the SOS office was covering up those massive violations. Joe submitted these successful complaints at a time before the board was restructured and I had given up hope that any SEB complaint would ever amount to anything.

Joe’s accomplishments did not come easy. He had to fight the SOS office and both the current and previous SEB chairs who used their positions to continually attempt to cover-up Fulton’s misdeeds. Joe was disrespected and patronized but his determination paid off and he readily forgave them, something that I still struggle to do.

When I presented evidence with him at the SEB earlier this year, he was pleased to have found an Email showing that both the current and former Fulton County election directors knew all along the 2020 Fulton hand count audit never matched the election results. The Email came from the Zuckerberg funded Elections Group. This group was involved in running all of the controversial aspects of the Fulton County 2020 election without the knowledge of the Fulton County Board of Elections. That includes findings that showed the audit did not match the original results, envelope signature matching was not performed, and electronic records were backfilled to make them match published totals. If he were still here today, I know Joe would want everyone to know. That may sound strange but it is because Joe never gave up and we can’t either. I am confident he has already heard the words “Well done my good and faithful servant”.
