Happy Paper Day!
The paper presents a new mechanism for AGN giant flares: a thermal transition of the accretion disk on the “ξ curve”. These flares may look like a hostless “super-TDEs” last for ≳ one year.
Thank you, @GLipunova and Andrey Tavleev!

@NikoSarcevic@thejournal_ie I’m so sorry. This judge’s statement is wrong in so many ways “momentary lapse into inattentive driving that could happen to anyone”
The paper showcases a catalog of stellar flares found in @ztfsurvey data release 8, mostly from M-dwarfs—the most common star type in our Galaxy, potentially hosting planets affected by UV radiation from these flares.
Congrats to the two Anastasias leading this research!
