This #LabourDay, we want to celebrate the frontline workers who have worked so hard to keep us safe. They have gone to work to keep food on our tables, ensure transit is running, and cared for our loved ones. They put themselves at risk every day and we can't thank them enough.
In June, we made a donation to @anishnawbe Health Toronto to support their mobile facility serving Indiginous communities. The Director of Programs and Services from the Toronto Foundation shares this update:

Ryan Evershed at @HomesFirst, an early donation recipient sent us an update:
Since your generous $5000 donation in April, we were able to supply PPE to all staff and clients, and have started allowing volunteers to work on-site.

The team at @JohnsHopkins has created a dashboard showing global infections. It's sobering to look at.
We are continuing to raise funds to equip our #frontlineworkers and be sure they have what they need to keep themselves, and their patients, safe.

This is horrifying: it took 39 days to go from 5M to 10M cases, but only 23 to go from 10M to 15M. The global curve is NOT flattening and experts think the real number could be 10x higher due to inadequate testing.
We need to be vigilant and stay safe.

Now that the immediate rush is over, we can turn our efforts to planning and preparation for a second wave, so we are better able to protect our frontline teams.

We're excited to announce our next grant recipient, @anishnawbe; a fully-accredited community health centre dedicated to Toronto's Indigenous community. It was an honour to learn about their work.
