A freezing dawn from the Fire Hills near Fairlight, East Sussex. Apparently from the sea the hills and cliffs are so bright in the rising sunlight they look like they’re on fire, hence the name (or so I’ve heard). It was c-c-cold though!
Everyone who falls into cold water unexpectedly wants to follow the same instinct: to swim hard and fight the water. But when you fight it, the chances are, you’ll lose. Instead you need to stay calm and #FloatToLive.
Here’s my scruffy, amateur & very soggy shout out to @hometidesuk who make beautiful A1 prints of #tidetables specific to ~ 600 locations across the UK. I am very biased (my other half makes them) but they are awesome. They look great & tell me when to walk the dog. 🌊🐕
It’s amazing what you can find at low tide. DINOSAUR FOOTPRINTS!! An iguanodon walked this stretch of beach about 120m years ago. Really incredible to see.
Don’t take unnecessary risks & follow your nation’s guidance at all times #StormChristoph. In areas impacted by heavy rain:
☔️ Never drive through flood water at the coast
☔️ Slow down on wet & winding roads
☔️ Don't try to beat the tide when crossing causeways
