On October 16, 2024, the esteemed Honourable Lady Grace Ibeh, accompanied by her colleagues from the State House of Assembly Service Commission, embarked on an enlightening visit to the National Assembly in Abuja.
I was thrilled to receive in audience, a delegation from the Child Protection Network (CPN); an organization saddled with the responsibility to safeguard and enhance the well-being and rights of children, prevent them from any form of abuse, violence, and exploitation.
Meeting the group yesterday, was an opportunity to learn more about them, build a stronger relationship, and explore modalities of integrating them deeply in our activities and campaign against child abuse, gender-based violence, child trafficking and other actions that dehumanize children.
As a government, we will keep engaging with individuals, agencies, non-governmental organizations, groups and other stakeholders within the value chain of child development for the well-being of our beloved children in Abia State.
Yesterday, I was the Special Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker during the occasion of this year's Abia State Cancer Awareness Day at the JAAC Building, Umuahia, our state capital. With the theme 'The Changing Face of the Enemy: Reducing the Rising Prevalence of Cancer in Abia,' the groundbreaking event was organized by my office in collaboration with the Abia State Ministry of Health.
Presenting a keynote address on the topic 'Tackling the Rising Prevalence of Cancer in Abia State: Focus on Cervical and Breast Cancer,' I acknowledged that cancer has become a serious and urgent health challenge globally and across Nigeria. Breast and Cervical Cancer are the 2 most common cancers currently seen among women in Nigeria and both are among the leading causes of cancer-related deaths occurring among women in our nation.
Our gathering symbolized a call to robust action for every individual, family, and community to unite in the fight against cancer. More than ever, it has become essential that we work together, to create a healthier, cancer-free future for our communities. I flagged off the first phase of a cancer screening Initiative, benefiting about 100 individuals.
I call on everyone—individuals, communities, and stakeholders to commit to spreading awareness, encouraging early detection, and supporting those affected by this disease. Together, we can create an Abia State where fewer families suffer the pain of loosing a loved one to cancer.
Thank you once again, for being a shining example of exceptional leadership. May your tenure continue to bring prosperity to our constituency.
Indeed, Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency is safe with Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah at the helm.

I want to sincerely thank God for the gift of Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah. He is a blessing not only to me and my family but also to our entire Umunneochi/ Isuikwuato Federal Constituency. His selfless efforts to improve our lives are truly commendable.
I was glad to be part of the official flag-off of Polio Immunization at the Abia State Primary Healthcare, Umuahia North Local Health Authority, Ojike Street.
In collaboration with the Government House Rotary Club, the event was held in observance of this year's World Polio Day to raise awareness about polio eradication efforts, educate people about polio symptoms, risks, and prevention, increase vaccination rates, improve public health, advocate for continued government and donor support and encourage community involvement and engagement.
Dear polio patients, millions have overcome polio, you too can. You are part of a resilient community that understands your journey. Seek help, ask questions and connect with others who understand. Stay positive, focused and hopeful because your life has a purpose and value.
To everyone, let us unite to eradicate polio—join the movement to create a polio-free world. We are stronger together. Let's make a difference!
Last weekend, I was in Umuezagwu Community, Ibeku, Umuahia North Local Government Area, where I commissioned two significant projects executed by the Deputy Speaker of the 8th Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Austin Okezie Meregini, representing Umuahia East State Constituency.
I sincerely commended him for the two projects—a two-bedroom apartment for a widow and a solar energy-powered borehole for the community. The two-bedroom apartment, heralds a fresh start and new beginning for the widow.
I charged the people of the community to ensure and prioritize proper management and maintenance of the borehole which is the first solar energy-powered borehole in the community and guard it against destruction or vandalization with a deep sense of responsibility due to its numerous benefits to the people.
I encourage individuals and organizations to prioritize the development of our communities through volunteerism, community engagement, skill-sharing, advocacy, financial contributions, leadership, and provision of infrastructure.
