Remember those without, every little helps, it’s not about what you get but what you give back. Truly inspired by Mr Nyamz and Kiki Badass, they say the youth is the future but I tell you, young people are leading now
Through dedicated Youth Service programs, countless young people are breaking free from the chains of drug and substance abuse. By fostering skills, support, and empowerment, we’re helping our youth reclaim their pride and confidence #YouthEmpowerment#HealingTogether
Many lessons to share between the two countries many things to learn. Clear and deliberate dialogue on increased cooperation. As we grow we get better as we get better we do better for our people. Many thanks
Last Thursday, I had the privilege of addressing a timely and engaging seminar on "China-Zimbabwe Dialogue: Aligning China's 15th Five-Year Plan with Zimbabwe's Vision 2030." 🇨🇳🇿🇼
The event, jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy and the Southern African Research and Documentation Centre @sardcnet, brought together senior government and ZANU-PF officials, Members of Parliament, and representatives from leading think tanks and media outlets, generating brilliant ideas and shared optimism.
This dialogue comes at a pivotal moment. Over the past five years, as China implemented its 14th Five-Year Plan and Zimbabwe its @ZimGvt_NDS1, we have witnessed remarkable achievements in our bilateral cooperation. The trade and investment relations between our two nations now underpin the livelihoods of more than one million Zimbabweans—a powerful testament to the tangible benefits of our partnership.
Building upon this strong foundation, the strategic alignment of our next development blueprints is more important than ever. China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) reaffirms our steadfast commitment to high-standard opening-up and sharing development opportunities with global partners. China is ready to closely align this new plan with Zimbabwe’s NDS2 and Vision 2030. Together, we can unlock immense potential for win-win cooperation in key areas such as:
📈 Trade & Investment
🏗️ Infrastructure Development
🌱 Green Energy
👨🎓 Human Resource Development

Opportunity always finds a prepared person. As we step into a new week, let’s move with boldness, discipline, and unwavering faith. May this week be fruitful for each one of us, and may our actions uplift Busoga and our nation.
Letwin, who recently completed her Accounting and Auditing studies in Hangzhou, China, on a Chinese Government scholarship, took time to share her knowledge and experiences with Dzikwa students.
Feel so proud of you, Letwin! Thank you for giving back and inspiring the next generation! Keep up the good work and enjoy your time in Sichuan! BTW, I was truly captivated by your Chinese jazz singing!

China, as always, firmly supports Zimbabwe in opposing external interference and keeping to its own development path. China stands ready to work with African countries and the international community to help Zimbabwe defend its independence and sovereignty, uphold stability and achieve development. We once again urge the few countries and organizations to lift the illegal sanctions on Zimbabwe ASAP.
@BusogaConsorti1 expanding poultry farming in VAM villages across Busoga.
More poultry means more income, better nutrition, and stronger rural livelihoods.

Ahead of SADC Anti-Sanctions Day (Oct 25) 🗓️, let’s revisit China’s 2008 move: vetoing sanctions draft resolution at the UN Security Council, supporting Zimbabwe in exploring its own development path as a sovereign state — the FIRST & ONLY time China used its Security Council veto for an African nation! ✊️
This pivotal act shielded Zimbabwe from further isolation and laid the groundwork for our "All Weather Community with a Shared Future" 🌍.
Today, China is Zim’s top investor & trading partner (bilateral trade hit a record $3.8B in 2024!), with landmark projects like Hwange Power Station expansion and Manhize Steel Plant driving growth.👏

I invited my colleague Clemensia from Namibia to the 2-day National Youth Empowerment Symposium officiated by President Mnangagwa. Before her return home today, I accompanied her for courtesy calls on the Minister of Youth, Hon. Machakaire, and his Deputy, Hon. Mupamhanga. 🇿🇼🇳🇦
My recent stay in Mutare included a visit to the esteemed Mutare Polytechnic. I extend my profound gratitude to the Principal, Ms. Poniso Watema, and her dedicated team for their gracious hospitality.
A key highlight of our discussion was reviewing the progress of the thriving partnership between Mutare Polytechnic and China Guangdong Polytechnic of Water Resources and Electric Engineering. I was thrilled to hear that the 30 students currently in Guangdong are excelling, adapting wonderfully, and acquiring valuable technical skills and expertise. I am also encouraged that both institutions are engaging with 🇨🇳 investors to secure employment for these talented students. I expressed my readiness to support more students and teachers from Mutare in pursuing studies and training in China.
Education remains an integral part of the broad and deepening relations between our two nations. We will continue to empower the youth and propell 🇿🇼 economic and social progress.
Congratulations to the people of Busoga
It’s another milestone for our region!
The successful signing of the Letter of Intent to establish friendly cooperation between the Busoga Consortium for Development (BCD) and Shandong Province marks a new chapter of transformation.
Such a joy to reconnect with Chief Mbusi Dakamela — having first met at the Scholastica Conference in Bulawayo in July! 👏
We delved into potential cooperation across cultural exchanges, heritage preservation, tourism, agriculture, healthcare, and livelihood betterment. 🌟✨ Our shared goal? To foster deeper mutual understanding and respect between our peoples—prioritizing long-term collaboration and enhancing our enduring friendship and robust partnership for future generations. 🇨🇳🤝🇿🇼
What struck me most deeply was the alignment of our traditional cultural values. The "iNtonga yeSizwe" gifted by Chief Dakamela is a powerful reminder: through friendship, unity, and cooperation, the Chinese and Zimbabwean peoples will continue to thrive and build greater prosperity together. ♥️💐
In return, I gave him a mascot "Loong" (龙) - the Chinese dragon, the venerated devine guardian of rain and agricultural bessing, and a ubiquitous symbol of good luck and prosperity, wishing Zimbabwe abundant rainfall each and every year.

The Reception for China-Zimbabwe human resources development cooperation in 2024 themed by My Stories with China was hosted by Amb. Zhou Ding in the Embassy on 29 November. Very honored by the presence of Minister of State for Mashonaland East, Hon. Munzverengwi @mash_east; Deputy Minister of Finance, Hon. Mnangagwa; Deputy Minister of Information, Hon. Marupi @DrOmphile@InfoMinZW; Deputy Minister of Youth Empowerment, Hon Mupamhanga; Deputy Minister of Environment, Hon. Paradza; Mayor of Harare, Councillor Mafume @JMafume and around 140 representatives of attendees of our bilateral training and exchange programs in China.
The attendees shared their experiences and stories in China such as how they were equipped with skills and knowledge, how to boost sustainable growth in rural areas, and how to adapt cultural traditions to economic development, etc.
HRD is a driving force for a country’s economic and social development. Both China and Zimbabwe attach great importance to HRD and HRD cooperation between us. Over the past year, about 700 Zimbabwean friends from diverse sectors have participated in various training and exchange programs in China. Zimbabwe is a country not only rich in natural resources, but also in human resources. HRD cooperation has always been an integral part of our relations. Our commitment to expand the HRD cooperation with each other in sectors such as digital technology, renewable energy, and sustainable development closely aligns with Zimbabwe's Vision 2030, Heritage-Based Education 5.0 and the "10 partnership actions" initiative announced in the FOCAC Summit in Beijing.
Our HRD cooperation is a two way street. As our Zimbabwean friends feel the warmth and hospitality of the Chinese people, acquire the knowledge and skills, they are also telling about Zimbabwe and Africa, raising Zimbabwe’s visibility in China.
