Chivi Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Exevia Maoneke together with with Mr L. Munamati, Chief Director for Agricultural Planning and Development in the Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Water Resources Development,
visited the Tanaka-Hapabviwi Village Business Unit in Ward 19 .
The visit focused on the community’s thriving market garden, where villagers are working together to produce a variety of crops, including rape, cabbages, tomatoes, carrots, onions and sweet potatoes.
During the visit, Hon. Maoneke donated sorghum seed, fertiliser, worm-control chemicals, fencing wire and poles to support local farmers and boost agricultural production.
The visit follows Thursday’s donation of more than 5,000 chicks to the Gwamatenga, Zenzele and Masvingise Village Business Units as part of efforts to strengthen community-based agricultural projects.

Chivi District held its 46th Heroes Day commemorations at the Chivi District Heroes Acre in Chivi Central, with District Development Coordinator (DDC) Mr I. Matingwina leading the proceedings and delivering the President’s speech.
The commemorations brought together Government officials, traditional leaders, legislators, war veterans, ZANU PF Central Committee members, National Consultative Assembly (NCA) members and members of the community.
Also in attendance were Chivi Central the Host Mp Hon E Maoneke, Chivi North MP Hon. G. Mukungungwa, Chief Rera , Chief Madamombe, Chief Chivi and Chief Shindi, among other traditional and community leaders.
The commemorations provided an opportunity for the district to honour the sacrifices of the country’s liberation heroes and reaffirm the importance of preserving their legacy for future generations. @hon_wezhaz
At the 46th Heroes Day commemorations in Chivi District, the Host Mp Hon. Exevia Moses Maoneke urged residents to uphold unity, hard work, education and environmental protection while honouring the sacrifices of Zimbabwe’s liberation heroes.
Hon. Maoneke called on communities to put the interests of Chivi and Zimbabwe above individual differences and play their part in driving development.
He encouraged students to take education seriously, while urging communities to protect the environment and respect national institutions.
As part of his contribution to youth development, Hon. Maoneke sponsored the Chivi District, Heroes Trophy with US$1,500, saying sport promotes discipline, teamwork and unity while providing young people with opportunities to discover and develop their talents.
He said the best way to preserve the legacy of the country’s heroes is to build a peaceful, united, hardworking and responsible society. @hon_wezhaz
