#HappyMothersDay
Becky (our cookery school administrator), and Romilla have known each other since they were 11 years old. They recount and reminisce about what their mothers were like growing up and how each of their memorable personalities played a part in their upbringing.
Supermarkets not content with putting high street fishmongers, butchers and bakers out of business now turn their attention to high street cafes and coffee shops. Stop being greedy.
Something is coming very soon... We’re thrilled to share news of our latest project: a brand-new café nestled within the old Horlicks Quarter in Slough.
Stay tuned to our social media channels for all the latest updates.

@EdibleReading We absolutely do live and breathe the values contained in all those posters on the walls in Thames Quarter. It is not easy and it means taking difficult decisions that impact on profit margins everyday.
- Romilla Arber, Founder of Honesty
@EdibleReading I am not here to question your opinions. Those are yours and let's face it everyone has them especially when it comes to coffee and interior design.
@EdibleReading Fresh sandwiches are made to order in all our shops. We use no artificial additives, preservatives, palm oil or artificial flavourings, stabilisers or emulsifiers in any of our produce, unlike Pret a Manger.
@EdibleReading We used to make all of our own bread and pastries but stopped doing so because of the energy price increases in 2022 which made it untenable.
All our cakes and biscuits, empanadas, soups, stews, pies, salads, panini and toasties are made by our chefs in our kitchens in Newbury.
@EdibleReading In my opinion the croissants and the pain au chocolat they produce are some of the finest I have ever tasted. They use quality ingredients and make the pastries by hand, so yes they are human made.
@EdibleReading Our pastries are produced by Birch Bread of Pangbourne. Birch Bread was founded by a bread angel called Lucie Steele. She started the business in a container in her garden in West Berkshire, simply because she had a passion for real bread and pastries.
@EdibleReading Their bread is made using stone ground flour milled from Paragon grain grown in Wiltshire. If there is such a thing, Syd is a ‘food hero’. He is an inspiration and is probably one of the reasons there are now so many great bakeries in the UK producing real bread.
@EdibleReading Just for your information though our bread is made by humans, as opposed to machines, in Inkpen in West Berkshire by a company called Astons. Astons was founded by Syd Aston in 1983 and he was one of the first organic bakers in the country.
At Honesty Group, we’ve always believed in fairness and transparency. Since our inception in 2014, we’ve upheld the principle of paying our colleagues 100% of the tips they receive from our valued customers. #FairnessAndTransparency#EthicalPractices#WorkerCompensation
“Starting off with a classic recipe! These biscuits are a breeze to make, requiring only simple ingredients—no food processor necessary! A delightful alternative to crisps or nuts, perfect for any occasion.” - Romilla 💙 #ParmesanBiscuits#Recipe#TryAtHome
We have been without gas since Sunday. Running a hospitality business is hard at the best of times. Without gas for food service and heating and #calorgas can’t tell us when they can deliver makes life even more difficult #ukhospitality
#calorgas fails again. I have now been waiting over 23 days for a delivery which should have taken no more than 14 days according to my contract. No gas for the last week to heat the house, no response to repeated emails and calls and now a cold snap. Calor gas fails again
We just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the NHS staff who will be leaving their family and friends to care for others throughout the Christmas period
