Ari Aster can't shoot a "normal" /relationship scene or make a scene "real" (or a flat in its production design). The first scene with the sheriff and his wife around min 10 is shot in awkward/distant angles like from so who doesn't know where to look at.

The scene in #Eddington just repeats the things he heard at the demo, but with youtfuhl conviction, could have been so great. Instead, it is played for a not so funny punchline.

Ari Aster's movies would probably be completely boring if he didn't shoot them in such an awkward way. Or let's say that applies to some of the scenes. Other sequences of his would be much better more grounded in reality.
