@MarinaMedvin I’d love to see a similar analysis of NPR. I would bet it’s orders of magnitude more skewed. And I was a loyal listener for nearly 40 years… until I just couldn’t stand the Israel coverage anymore.
It is so unfair how Israel has decided that it does not wish to be exterminated. A coalition of Arab countries have repeatedly attempted to annihilate Jews off the map but then Israel does something truly disgusting: They fight back. If Jews were to only die peacefully and with empathy toward their executioners, we'd have peace in the Middle East. #JewLivesDontMatter
@GreekGodOfHops Heavy on the proteins, light on carbs. Slower to digest. Plus tons of hydration during the hours before starting the fast. Have an easy fast.
@CliffordAsness Thanks for this, and all of your posts on this topic, Cliff. You write what the sane middle is thinking. (We were classmates at Penn M&T btw)
Today is the *saddest* day for Palestine.
What most people don’t understand is that Palestinians live in fear.
Not just fear of the Israeli army.
But fear of themselves.
As the deal takes effect, the streets of Gaza are now filled with Hamas terrorists who remain in power.
And as long as they are in power, average Palestinians live in fear of uttering the word: “coexistence”.
Moderates fear extremists.
And true peace will only come when the roles are reversed.
When extremists fear the moderates.
We need the moderates in power.
Until then, I'm afraid the cycle of war will repeat.
Again. And again.
Palestine needs to be free.
Free from Hamas.
And free from extremists.
"Mosab Hassan Yousef (son of Hamas founder) destroys the “victim image” of Palestinian Muslims:
They sent suicide bombers to blow up crowded places in Israel, then dared to cry "apartheid” when Israel built a wall, security fences & checkpoints."
~ Liza Rosen @LizaRosen0000
The pogrom always has an excuse ("the Jews didn't remove their hats when the Host paraded by")- but the excuse for the pogrom is never the reason for the pogrom.
HAMAS and its #FreePalestine supporters now have a SIMPLE choice to save lives:
1) RELEASE THE HOSTAGES.
2) LAY DOWN YOUR WEAPONS.
3) SURRENDER.
The war will end immediately.
What happens next is on the few surviving leaders.
Stop fighting.
Or die like #Sinwar.
I am excited to announce that I had my first Free Palestine protest come to a Nas Daily meetup.
I told them I agreed with them. I also want a Free Palestine from Hamas. Free Palestine from terrorism. Free Palestine from radical religion.
They disagreed. They just wanted a Free Palestine from Jews.
Oh well.
All Cops Are Bastards (ACAB) in America, But They Are Amazing in Gaza! The un-Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, continues to brutalize the Palestinian people in Gaza to maintain its grip on power and institute its form of “revolutionary” law and order. Part jungle, part ISIS-inspired, Hamas’s security and counterintelligence officers roam the streets, going after dissidents and those whom it accuses of theft. Ironically, the group does not target looters and criminals who are regularly attacking aid convoys and trucks coming in through the Kerem Shalom crossing, nor does Hamas go after the merchants and businessmen who are benefiting from a horrendous war economy and still have to pay taxes to the group. These beatings, shootings, and killings are done in public to maximize the terror and fear among the population and remind them that Hamas is still in control. Terrified, unarmed, and without any other option, the population sees these acts and acquiesces to the group’s continued tyrannical/militant control. No one wants to suffer broken legs, knees, hands, or gunshot wounds when the healthcare system in Gaza has all but collapsed.
This is the group that numerous people still praise and cheer for in the Western world, calling it a form of just and understandable “resistance.” This is how Hamas polices the Palestinian people in Gaza, who are already traumatized from 11 months of unrelenting Israeli bombardment and warfare, with nowhere to go. What’s most horribly and terribly ironic is that when the Black Lives Matter (BLM) Twitter page shared my supportive quote tweet yesterday thanking them for their statement, which called for Hamas to release Israeli hostages, scores of people who regularly scream about police brutality attacked me viciously.
The same people who decry police violence against people of color in America are gleefully endorsing, supporting, loving, relishing, enjoying, appreciating, promoting, celebrating, defending, protecting, shielding, and idealizing one of the most brutal & violent militant police forces harming people of color in the global south: Hamas. These individuals ignore Hamas’s crimes against the Palestinians in Gaza, overlook the group’s violent grip on power and how it governs the coastal enclave, and willfully, deliberately, and knowingly promote the Islamist terror group, despite being presented with overwhelming evidence of Hamas’s criminality.
To all the Twitter Mujahideen, the horrendous “allies” of the Palestinian cause, and the misinformed members of the Palestinian/Arab/Muslim diaspora who see the above and still support Hamas: you are the enemy of the Palestinians in Gaza; may you experience life under Islamist terror; may you one day suffer the consequences of supporting violent criminality overseas because it doesn’t directly impact you; and hopefully, may you awaken and change course, for delegitimizing Hamas and separating them from the just and urgent Palestinian aspirations for freedom and equality is the best you can do with your Western privilege.
Do you remember me? The Jewish person you once knew? The person who believed in and championed you? The person who always remembered the anniversaries? The person who never left you hanging on a text? The person who went out of their way to find the words you could never find? The person who never let you down when you were in your hour of need? The person who took care of you when you were sick and danced with you when you were happy? Do you remember me? Do you remember us? We're wondering where you are.
There was another terrible example of Israeli apartheid racism today when the Jewish State sent in Israeli soldiers to risk their lives rescuing Qaid Farhan Alkadi, a Muslim Bedouin held hostage by Islamic terrorists for 300 days.
Israel, the Jewish State labeled “apartheid” by its enemies, just sent Jewish soldiers to rescue an Israeli Muslim from Muslim captivity. That tells you all you need to know.
Oh cut it out. Democrats didn’t make Trump commit business fraud, or steal & obstruct the retrieval of classified docs, or try to overthrow the 2020 election, or pressure Georgia to overturn their election results. TRUMP DID THOSE THINGS ALL BY HIMSELF. And Democrats didn’t nominate Trump. REPUBLICAN VOTERS DID. Respectfully Charlie, this is a bullshit tweet. Please hold Trump and Republican voters accountable for what THEY did.
