I attended the National Budget Conference for FY 2027/28, presided over by H.E. the Vice President of the Republic of Uganda @jessica_alupo

The Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development Hon @henrymusasizi1 presented the Budget Strategy for FY 2027/28, which is anchored on seven key strategic priorities which included Revenue-Led Fiscal Consolidation, Prudent Management of Oil Revenues (Sweet Pearl), Mobilization of Private Capital for ATMS, Accelerating the Realization of the Tenfold Growth Strategy, Strengthening Wealth Creation Programs, Enforcing Key Budget Reforms, Prioritizing Jobs, Exports and Household Incomes aimed at strengthening Uganda’s economy all aimed at improving the livelihoods of our people.

As Parliament, our role remains critical in ensuring that these priorities are translated into effective policies, realistic budgets and tangible results for the people of Uganda.

The focus must ultimately be on creating opportunities, growing household incomes, expanding exports, generating decent jobs and accelerating Uganda’s transformation into a prosperous and competitive economy.

Sheema District today held the 1st meeting of the District Roads Committee at the District Council Hall.

@HonKateshD Kateshd, MP Sheema Municipality has once again been entrusted to chair the District Roads Committee for the new term.

Hon. Adrine Katusiime, DWMP Sheema District informed the meeting that while in Kampala, *Sheema District MPs met and resolved that Hon. Kateshd continue serving as Committee Chairperson.
The resolution was seconded by the District LC5 Chairperson, Madam Jemimah Buhanda.

The meeting was attended by:
- Hon. Eliodah Tumwesigye, MP Sheema North
- Chairperson NRM Sheema District, Muhangi Richard- representing Prof. Kamuntu Ephraim
- D/RDC,D/CAO,Mayor Sheema Municipality, D/DISO, A/RDCs for Sheema, and other relevant District stakeholders

In his remarks, @HonKateshD re-echoed his earlier emphasis on immediate infrastructure priorities, fund accountability, and regional connectivity.
He tasked officials from the Ministry of Works and Transport - MOWT to give updates on maintenance and pending roadworks on the Kabwohe - Nyakambu and Kabwohe - Kitagata roads.

The Committee committed to working closely with technical teams and MPs to ensure timely delivery of road projects for the people of Sheema.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my brother @chairtoyota my guest of honor today, My Honorable colleagues Hon @kateshd , Hon @Hon_Ngabirano_C , My sister Hon @kansiimean32756 and Hon Emily Kugonza for joining me today at my thanksgiving ceremony as we gave glory to God for the precious gift of life.

This thanksgiving is also my way of appreciating the people of Rwampara County who entrusted me with their overwhelming support and confidence.

I am pleased to announce that all the money collected during this event will be dedicated to the renovation of Kakinga Primary School, as a small contribution towards improving education in our community.

I join the people of Uganda in mourning the heartbreaking loss of the children, teachers, and all those who tragically lost their lives in the devastating road accident in Kapchorwa.

My deepest condolences go to the bereaved families, the school community, and everyone affected by this painful tragedy. I also pray for the quick and complete recovery of those receiving medical care.

May the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace, and may God grant strength, comfort, and healing to all those grieving during this difficult time. Let us continue to keep the affected families in our thoughts and prayers.

@tiuganda1 represented at the re-launch of the upgraded Government Procurement Portal (GPP) organized by @africafoicentre in partnership with @PPDAUganda and support from @CoSTransparency where our Communications Officer Ms. Sandra Coote @Cote_Sandra3 shared feedback from the recently concluded trainings of PDUs on the utilization of the GPP in 9 district LGs among which was;

1. The need for more refresher trainings for the PDUs.
2. The need for increased awareness on the existence and utilization of GPP at the local government level.
3. The need to procure more laptops and internet for PDUs to enable them upload data on the GPP.

In response to this, Mr. Michael Abaine Manager Compliance @PPDAUganda pledged to continue working with @tiuganda1 in training PDUs at the local government level and creating awareness of the GPP, while utilizing the PPDA regional offices to conduct more refresher trainings for the PDUs.
