Another big congratulations to Musingu Boys (The scorpions) for making it to the finals of KSSSA games, currently taking place in Kisii.
We are fully behind you.
Graced the inaugural National Summit on County Peer Review Mechanism, where I presented a status report on the county's best practices and areas for improvement.
The summit aims to promote good governance, enhance service delivery, and foster collaboration among counties.
While addressing the attendees, I noted that agriculture has emerged as the highest-ranked activity within counties, at the same time underscoring its significance in local economies and the need for continued support and development.
As Chair of the Finance Committee at the Council of Governors, I urged the national government to expedite the transfer of all devolved functions and resources to counties, as enshrined in the Constitution, highlighting the importance of timely financial support to ensure county projects and services do not stall.
Kakamega, one of the 12 counties reviewed, was identified as a benchmark in agriculture, vocational training, youth development, health, county law enforcement, public participation, ECDE centers, and road infrastructure.
Feels awesome to be back home.

Given the current flooding across the country, I have urged Kakamega residents living in flood-prone areas and near riverbanks to temporarily relocate to higher grounds for safety and also report incidences of emergency to the local administration for necessary interventions.
Both the County and the National Governments, together with other stakeholders, have implemented comprehensive disaster preparedness measures to effectively respond to emergencies across Kakamega.
