Listen. The other FCs are around ¥4000 PER YEAR. This is because tickets are wildly more expensive. But we’re also in a recession, with stagnant wages, and paying ¥13,000 for a ticket a year is hard to do when I paid ¥12,000 ALREADY.🤬

He was told he was chosen to be the cox because he has excellent observational ability and reads his crew quickly, with accurate direction, but part of him worries that it was just because it's the only role he can physically do. It was rare for us to hear Nino's true feelings.

I really loved the quiet section where Nino is benched. We find out, as he plucks grass waiting for the crew, that he can't row. As a Jr, he suffered a severe hand injury that crushed bones in a stage lift. He has permanent nerve damage and weakness. +

8 yrs ago, I wrote a review of Mago Mago Rowing Club n how it represented the Arashi story.

I'm proud to say that many elements of that story still hold true today.

Arashi was thrust into a 100 day rowing club which showed a glimpse of the dynamics behind Japan's top idol group
