Here is a summary thread of the data I hand-tracked watching all 7 games of the 1994 NBA Finals
In an absolute slugfest of a series where neither team managed a single double-digit victory, Hakeem Olajuwon was the difference, bottling up both pick and rolls and the paint on defense while providing his team a reliable offensive floor.
@lirishfwanime Idt wemby gets to bitw solely on defense, but his roll gravity+fluid shooting for his size+defense makes every healthy season an almost easy 60 wins
Great playoff D can diminish his offensive impact, but i think its much more difficult to takeaway what he does on D
If chips = classics he really does got 4, but if mvps are years where you were the greatest rapper in the world for a full calendar year then he might have 0
But does anyone got more than 4 classics?
Jimmy Butler bonded with Steph Curry in LA last March during a low point late in their careers, further motivating him to change the narrative of this closing chapter:
“I just want to help those guys win another [title], man. And get me one. I felt I let them down. Now, as I’m going through this rehab process, as I’m starting to move and run and jump, I’m like, oh shit, I could still do it. And that’s why I say y’all motherfuckers going to be real shocked if y’all think I’m going to come back and be some bum-ass player.”

@POAdefenseFC Its definitely the ability to efficiently create your own shot against a variety of defenses, but the average fan misunderstands how valuable rim protection is cause they aint ever played 5 on 5 w anyone taller than 6’5
Jimmy Butler sends a warning to the league
“Yall motherf---ers going to be real shocked if y'all think I'm going to come back and be some bumass player.”👀

Jimmy Butler is unironically the most underrated player in the NBA currently. I get the age concerns but people talking about him like hes not a complete game changer.
All world defender, great foul drawer, great playmaker, the Dubs were 46-22!! After trading for him
Nikola Jokic a dévoilé son Mont Rushmore :
⭐️ Bill Russell
⭐️ Michael Jordan
⭐️ Wilt Chamberlain
⭐️ Stephen Curry
« Je dirais probablement Bill Russell, pour ses titres de champion. Michael Jordan, parce qu'il a changé le basket. Probablement Wilt Chamberlain, pour tous ses chiffres et ses statistiques complètement folles. Et je vais mettre Steph Curry, parce qu'il a changé le basket et qu'il appartient plus ou moins à ma génération. J'ai joué contre lui et il a vraiment changé le jeu, à sa manière. Voilà mes quatre joueurs. »

@POAdefenseFC No one will ever surpass bill but i think wemby already has a top 3 defensive peak ever assuming he sustains last years level of play for a few more seasons
And his O is underwhelming compared to someone like hakeem but its still all star level, that makes him clear bitw imo
@POAdefenseFC During boston’s best defensive years they had KC jones and satch sanders who were both considered great defenders with KC being the best guard defender of his era other than maybe west. Havlicek made 8 all defensive teams and was making them from the moment they were introduced
Kareem slander getting a lil out of hand due to this video, to be clear there’s no argument wilt was better than kareem atp
Huge decline in efficiency and Wilt was the 2nd best kareem defender ever but he still averaged 34-17-5 and the Bucks outscored the Lakers in this series
@arhooptalk@estratt47 yep, definitely agree that wilt was one of kareem’s worse matchups at that time, lakers could not have been the all time great team they became in 72 if not for wilt’s defensive brilliance
@KamitronPTW@Starting5Trivia Off the top of my head he’s third but i could be forgetting someone, webster had a great series against him w the sonics iirc
