Thank you @nytimes for this incredible honor. All I ever wanted to be known as, before anything else, is a songwriter. Being in the company of the genius songwriters on this list is an honor all on its own. Thank you @danamo for the illuminating interview, and @VictoriaMonet for your beautifully generous words. It means more than you know.
when I was a kid i used to think this was the best pop song ever made. then i grew up and matured and realised that this is absolutely the best pop song ever made
YEP. Because DLSU has a big scholar population as the institution supports those who cannot afford the tuition. I kid you not when I say na sobrang generous ng La Salle sa scholarships and at different kinds too—some are on 100% scholarships, some on 50%, etc.
Students also know that part of what they pay for actually goes to the scholarships. And pagdating sa campus, there’s no difference. They are treated normally and Lasallians are also willing to extend a helping hand when needed.
Makes me proud to be a lasallian tbh.
Para lang mas naiimagine natin kung ano ang 6 billion pesos.
That’s more than 7,500 classrooms for last-mile schools.
That’s 8,633,094 days — or 23,652 years — of daily work at Manila’s minimum wage.
Corruption is not abstract. It is livelihoods taken, families strained, communities forced to wait.
Every peso lost is a future taken.
