There’s so much to love about UVA’s roster construction this year. Baseline of returning 4 of the better players in the conference and then you add a handful of really exciting guys. Need that Kentucky game at JPJ now.
@AZavalkoff He’ll protect the rim enough to trick a franchise into thinking he’s worth keeping around. He’ll work in Chicago, you guys might even be able to host the play-in at this rate.
Everyone jumped to blame Millon when in reality our own OC was leading a coup against Lars. I don’t completely hate it since it allows for some continuity and hopefully it means we won’t lose guys, but it’s a pretty unsexy hire.
@RobbieCurtis228@UVaHoopsRiffs Our AD’s last 15 months or so have earned her the benefit of the doubt. I won’t strongly criticize the department for this until it fails
@Irongate35 If you’re referring to millon, maybe he was in support of it but I highly doubt he was the driving force behind it. Clearly Cassese and maybe the players shared the same sentiment, and THOSE are the voices that Carla Williams should value.
@jimbo_joe17@Narrows_Hoo Right, I don’t think Cassese was a last resort hire. I think this was the plan all along and the swiftness of the hire kind of supports that. They probably poked around at some other guys but knew Cassese was gonna be the guy.
@Narrows_Hoo My guess would be that the athletic office always knew that Cassese was the most likely outcome and clearly they were happy with it. They would’ve loved Chemotti or one of the other top guys but I’m sure they knew it most likely wouldn’t happen.
In a world where the final 4 was composed of 3 ACC teams, I’m glad the winner comes from the Ivy. Maybe it’s a good thing UVA lost early bc Princeton would’ve embarrassed us on our home field
I’m excited for Wemby to win this series and for the people who only watch the Finals to be completely perplexed by what he can do on a basketball court. It feels like you’re watching a different sport when he’s in the game
